KX Industries is the parent company that owns and manufactures the Matrikx brand of water filter cartridges.

Matrikx decided about 12 months ago to also have a manufacturing plant in Singapore as well as having a smaller operation in the U.S. so basically you could purchase the same cartridge model as a U.S. made or Singapore made, the U.S. made ones had a higher price by 13% than the ones made in Singapore.

We had no intension of purchasing the Singapore models and continued to buy the U.S. made ones but they are closing the Singapore manufacturing plant and shifting every thing back to the U.S. my guess is that they found that their customers wished to purchase products made in the U.S. and prepared to pay that little bit extra.
